About HB-A Consulting
Supporting Small Business Owners to Develop Comprehensive Solutions to Their Challenges
HB-A Consulting is a minority woman-owned business that was created in 2016 with the primary mission to create comprehensive solutions to solve our clients' problems. Initially focusing on management consulting and business advisory services to national and international public and private entities, as a small business owner Holly recognized the need by other small business owners for assistance to support them in areas that she took for granted but recognized the critical role in business success.
With a background in project management, strategic planning, organizational optimization and engineering, we incorporate these features in our business coaching as we support our clients in working through difficult aspects of their business.
Our principal, Holly Burton-Aro, is a highly accomplished professional with expertise in public private partnerships, strategic planning, organizational optimization and project/program management for international and domestic clients in the water, wastewater, solid waste, transportation and energy sectors. She is an adept leader with outstanding organizational and problem solving skills and sound critical and strategic analysis skills. She brings nearly 20 years of consulting and finance experience — 11 years in management consulting for utilities, including leading a regional management consulting group, and 6 years structuring loans for private sector infrastructure projects in Latin America and the Caribbean. She is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
Combining Diverse and Complementary Perspectives
Ms. Burton-Aro possesses a unique combination of experience. As a licensed engineer with both consulting and finance experience, she brings a diverse and complementary perspective to our clients to support their decision-making process.
She has worked with clients in both the public and private sectors; small and large projects/organizations; and local, municipal, state and international organizations. She has held the role of the consultant, lender, and owner’s agent and understands the point of view of the parties. These experiences, combined with her outstanding organizational and problem solving skills and sound critical and strategic analysis, enable her to assess situations from different perspectives to the client’s benefit.
